Unusual Copper Archdeacon of Huntingdon Wax Matrix

Seal Detail

A copper matrix believed to date to the early 19th century, the reverse showing the remains of an original handle which has been ground to make flat and the addition of two mounting holes, the obverse engraved with the arms and insignia for Huntington with the circumscription within a lined border reading:

SILLGILLVM COMMISSARII ET OFFICIALIS ARCHDIACONATVS HVNTINGTONIEN

The seal for the Archdeacon's office of Huntingdon, in the east of the UK. It is interesting to note the scales of justice hanging from the top of the seal by an arm and hand - those of the Divine whose presence is noted.
