18th Century Religious Brass Seal Matrix

Seal Detail

 An 18th century Continental ecclesiastical seal matrix socket. The collar has a small cut in the upper rim, and handle is missing. However, the oval brass matrix is enchantingly engraved with Son of God In Full Glory with Lamb of God in his arms, standing on a ground of grass within a lined border, with the circumscription reading CIGIL*CAPVCINOR*AVRIPEC indicating the seal for a Capucine Order Monastery, but sadly the location cannot be identified at this stage. Presented in a lovely condition, save for the small cut in the upper rim of the socket.
