English Small Silver Fob Seal - Duncombe

Seal Detail

A charming English silver fob seal with suspension loop handle and oval matrix. Engraved with armorial featuring three mammal busts on a per chevron parted field shield (Gules and Argent), beneath a coronet and crest of animal forearm, within a lined border. The handle is fully hallmarked for London with worn date letter circa 1780, and makers mark which appears to be the initials W.R. In addition there is an engraved name of Duncombe, the family name.

The seal is offered in very good condition, with original patina although the hallmarks have been rubbed to some degree as per the photos.
