Large Continental 18thC Silver & Rosewood Armorial Desk Seal

Seal Detail

A most impressive 18th century Continental silver and rosewood desk seal, the turned handle of inverted baluster form made from what is believed to be rosewood, tapering to a large and tall silver collar and oval matrix, superbly engraved with the as yet unidentified arms comprising quartered shield under an elaborate helm with mantling within a lined border.

The seal has been engraved particularly well and the detail is of a very high nature.  The seal is presented in excellent condition and shows good patina to the silver.
