FRAN: AHT: BAYER. VON. BVOC HOLZ. COMES.PALATH: CAESAR
The seal of Franz Anton Bayer von Buchholz c1750, Imperial Councilor and Mayor of Freiburg. The presence of the "Count Palatine" is due to his position of legal or judicial power. Franz Anton Beyer was an Imperial Councilor and Mayor of Freiburg and was ennobled by the Habsburgs in 1714 (his residence in Freiburg was built in 1711). In 1720, he acquired the lordship of Buchholz.
His coat of arms: in fields one and four of the shield, which is divided into four parts, there is a silver bar charged with three black bees on a red field. The other two fields each show a black ram on a gold background. In the escutcheon (see below under A), a stag leaps on a green triple mount (illustration to the left of the former Beyer residence in Rathausgasse in Freiburg).
