Fine Marked Silver & Ebony Desk Seal Count's Marriage Armorial

A fine example of a French Count's desk seal dating to the early 19th century, the handle of turned ebony of baluster form with flat top, tapering to a silver banded collar and integral oval matrix, struck twice and engraved with twin unidentified arms with lion supporters under a Count's coronet. The marks indicating silver and, somewhat unusually, the maker, JR.
The seal is presented in excellent condition with wear only befitting an item of this age.
