An interesting example of a German 19th century brass personal desk seal, the handle of simple fin section with suspension hole centrally placed, the circular matrix well and deeply engraved with a central shield featuring an elaborate boot with spur, under a helm and crest of, what appears to be man holding keys in one hand and book in the other, symbolising St Peter, with much deeply engraved mantling and bordered inscription reading:
