Late 18th Century Ebony and Silver Desk Seal

Seal Detail

A very fine looking English desk seal dating to around 1790 and comprised of a turned ebony handle of organ-stopper form tapering to a silver collar and oval silver matrix. This is well engraved, with a decoratively carved lower portion with Azure background and the upper portion engraved with two crossed ears of wheat upon an Or background. A charming pastoral themed desk seal in fine condition showing patina and signs of historic use.
