Early Silver Count's Armorial Fob Wax Seal

Seal Detail

A lovely example of an early silver fob armorial seal, dating to the early 18th century and of Continental origin but likely France, the handle formed of two unusual intertwining ivy stems with an oval matrix engraved with an armorial shield comprising a bull's head over two flowers under a Count's coronet, with fainter initials DA above and crossed feathers at base.

The seal is in great condition and full of charm, especially given the pastoral nature of the engraving.
