A fine example of a crystal and gold armorial desk seal, the handle of inverted baluster form with rounded top and the stem with twisted rope effect, tapering to an ornate carved collar with copied twisted design and decorative rim to an oval matrix, well engraved with full arms and motto, reading:

The seal of Jean-Victor-Amedee-Jacques (1878-1974), Prince of Broglie. His parents lived in the chateau de Chaumont-sur-Loire in the region of Lore-et-Cher. He married in 1905 the princess Marie-Marguerite-Armandde-lina, called Daisy, Berthier de Wagram (1887-1966) whom he divorced in 1926. They loved in Paris on the Avenue de Messine and the Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire.
Presented in superb original condition.
