Unusual 19thC Austro-Hungarian Brass Armorial Desk Seal

Seal Detail

An unusual cast desk seal, most likely of Austro-Hungarian origin, made of brass with the handle of decorative tapering form, apparently showing a silver colour over the brass. The rectangular matrix with canted corners show central shield under two helms and crests with decorative garlands either side, as yet unidentified but the seal has an attractive appeal especially due to its curious material.
