19thC French Agate and Silver Baron Desk Seal

Seal Detail

This is a well found French desk seal featuring a superbly carved tapering agate handle of various shades from pale grey to black through brown, to a silver collar with three beaded bands and a rectangular silver matrix incorporating shield with a star within a fountain with a Baron's coronet above, two lion supporters and decorative mantling below within a lined border.

The seal is in very fine condition with only one tiny blemish to the otherwise beautiful agate handle.
