19thC French Cornaline Agate and Silver Gilt Armorial Desk Seal

Seal Detail

A very attractive desk seal comprising well carved agate handle which remains in excellent condition given its age, tapering to a wonderfully ornate collar and mount decorated with floral interpretations and terminating in a rectangular silver matrix comprising shield with star and two ducks within a lined border. The arms have not yet been identified but it's a lovely example of a desk seal from this period.
