Electrotype Copper Ring Wax Seal SEEL DE VILLERS Marriage Armorial

Seal Detail

An unusual seal is this one; with no background notes, it is a bit of an anomaly although it appears to be an electrotype of an 18th century seal.  The seal's reverse comprises a thin wire "ring" attachment and the obverse is a thin circular copper matrix which has been engraved with twin armorials under a royal coronet, twin unicorn supporters and decoration at base with an inscription above reading: 

SCEL DE VILLERS

The seal shows the arms probably of the family VIEFVILLE des ESSARTS.
