A French brass desk ink stamp socket made in the early 19th century featuring three central Royalist fleur de Lys with an inscription within a lined border reading:

DEPOT D'ETALONS D'AUXERRE

The official stamp for the military stud farm based in Auxerre, the capital (prefecture) of the Yonne department and the fourth-largest city in the Burgundy historical region southeast of Paris. 

The stamp is in excellent condition and, as is typical of the majority of French stamps and seal, without its handle.
