Seal Detail
An English desk seal, dating to the mid 19th century, of wood and brass, the handle of lovely mahogany of inverted baluster form with rounded top, tapering to a tall brass collar and oval integrated matrix, engraved with the central depiction of a raised gloved hand with a heart in the centre, inscribed either side with the initials M.U. and 3225 and an outer inscription within a lined border reading:

A masonic desk seal for the Nelson Lodge branch in the city of Norwich, in the eastern co. Norfolk. This branch has since been amalgamated and no longer exists in its own right. The seal is in excellent original condition.
