An intriguing brass and copper desk seal, thought to be a Victorian electrotype copy of a 17th century seal, the handle of short, stubby form with engine turned rim and circular matrix, of engraved copper depicting a central rose under a royal coronet of Charles II, with lion and dragon supporters and inscription at base reading:

S, PRICON

Believed to relate to the official position of Privy Council and specifically, the1st Earl of Anglesey, Arthur Annesley, who was Lord Privy Seal from 1673-1682.
