18thC Continental Silver Armorial Desk Wax Seal

Seal Detail

A finely engraved Continental silver desk seal socket, struck with the maker's mark WS or SM, the silver collar with integral circular silver matrix, well engraved with an armorial cartouche below a crested coronet with attractive decoration engraved within the beaded border.  

In good condition save for what appears to be an intentional positioning indenture to aid in the using, as well as several historical bruises and dents to the silver.
