In the olden days, cellars would be partitioned into sections to accommodate a person’s collection of different types of wine. These “Bin Labels” would hang on a nail above what was in that part of the cellar.
Collected at auctions by David Morris over a 35 year period, there’s a mixture of labels in this collection, ranging from unusual to some very rare examples. Most of them are 19th Century, made by the famous English ceramicists Farrow & Jackson, who are named on the backs of the labels.
