A fascinating piece of local history to Selsey, in the county of Sussex, a steel company seal for the the tramway that operated from 1896 to 1935. The pierced rectangular spigot with two short ears and screws, to a circular matrix engraved to the border ‘THE HUNDRED OF MANHOOD AND SELSEY TRAMWAYS COMPANY LTD SEAL' with a depiction of a 2-4-2T locomotive, bearing the initials HMSTCo Ld

The Hundred of Manhood and Selsey Tramway Company Ltd (1896–1935), later known as the West Sussex Railway, was a light railway in West Sussex, running 7.75 miles from Chichester to Selsey.  It was opened on August 27 1897, having taken a remarkable four months to build and was designed by Colonel Holman Stephens, featuring 11 stations with simple, economical infrastructure.  See this link for more detailed information about this remarkable tramway project https://www.mwhg.org.uk/tramway
