Gold and Jasper Personal Armorial Desk Seal
A stunning hand crafted desk seal made of jasper and gold, which has been engraved with two distinguished families' armorials (arms)to celebrate their marriage. The gold collar is intricately chased and offers a great contrast to the highly polished jasper hardstone.
Desk Seal Detail
The arms commemorate the marriage of Sir Andrew Vincent Corbet (born 1899, died 1855), the 2nd baronet of Moreton Corbet in the County of Salop and Rachel Stevens Hill (born 1799, died 1875), the eldest daughter of Colonel John Hill, of Hawkstone in the county of Salop and his wife, Elizabeth Rhodes Cornish. Andrew and Rachel were married on the 19th September 1820. Both Andrew and his father served as High Sheriff of Salop during the years 1843 and 1798 respectively.
