An early 19th century gilt and glass fob seal, the handle of simple arch form with suspension loop at the top, to a reeded gilt mount and oval ruby-red glass matrix well engraved with the central United Kingdom Royal arms with an inscription within a lined border reading:
ROYAL. HOSPITAL. CHELSEA
A seal for the Royal Hospital Chelsea, a world-famous retirement and nursing facility located in central London, founded in 1682 by King Charles II and home to the Chelsea Pensioners. Presented in good condition save for some wear to the gilt finish.
