






18thC Brass Personal Armorial Hand-Seal - Guillaume De Vos
Seal Detail
Fine 18th century brass wax seal, of tall semi-circular fin form with small suspension hole drilled to a circular matrix, well engraved with a central coat of arms under a floral decorative mantling of tulip and roses and inscription within a beaded border reading:
SIG. GVILELMVS. DE. VOS
A seal relating to a Guillaume de Vos, of possibly Dutch origin although further research would benefit from being carried out to ascertain the correct subject. Presented here in excellent condition having previously formed part of the Schuermaus Collection
