Seal Detail
A massive hardstone desk seal, probably Austrian, mid to late 19th century, of faceted tapering "Russian" form , oval section, deeply fluted at the top with inverted cap, carved in mottled and banded black, chocolate and white agate with crystalline inclusions, the integral oval matrix engraved with an unidentified coat of arms below a Baron's coronet, in its original purple plush-covered case.
