A fine example of a late 18th century flamboyant Italian steel legal desk seal, the handle of a flat top, octagonal form, tapering to a wide oval matrix, well engraved with a superb depiction of a blindfolded, gowned lady holding sword in one hand and scales in the other, standing on a ground with tree in the distance, with ribbon motto above reading:
DEO ET PROXINO (For God and The Church)
and outer circumscription within a lined border reading:
GEORGIUS. HENRICUS. FUNCKIUS. NOTARIUS. CAESAR: PUBL: IUR
