Late 17thC Silver Bavarian Fob Seal - Bartholomew Riser
Seal Detail
A fine silver Bohemian late 17th century circular pocket fob seal, the handle now missing but the remains of its previous hinged attachment evident on the reverse, the obverse well and deeply engraved with a central coat of arms comprising shield, below a helm and crest of tree-like man holding a sheaf of corn in his raised hand, decorative mantling and inscription within a ribbon banner reading:

A seal relating to a Bartholomew Riser, of unknown origin but thought to emanate from Bohemia in the late 17th century. In excellent condition save for the missing handle.
