Seal Detail

A fine bronze religious desk seal, English, circa 1810 of vessica form, the reverse engraved with the stylised inscription: ENGRAVED BY HALFHIDE & CO COVENTRY STREET and obverse well engraved with a shield, ensigned by a mitre.

The arms are those of the Moss family of Horton Regis, Co. Bedfordshire and this seal was made for Charles Moss, Bishop of Oxford, 1807-1811. Presented in excellent condition.
