Fine 18th century French desk seal of hardwood and silver, the handle of turned wood of organ stopper form and tapering stem to a silver banded collar and matrix, the reverse marked with a poincon of Paris (monkey's head) dating the seal to 1770/80, the obverse well engraved with the central armorial shield of the Beauvert family , comprising three waterbirds with branches in their mouths, a star-studded chevron and comtal coronet above with two heron supporters.  

In excellent condition commensurate with its age.
