Seal Detail

A fine and heavy example of an Irish late 18th century brass desk seal, the solid brass handle of baluster form tapering to a machine turned collar and screw-threaded rectangular matrix, the matrix deeply engraved with an armorial comprising shield, crest and motto at base reading:

VELO AN REMIS

The arms are those of the Garveys family of co. Mayo, Ireland.  The seal is presented in excellent condition .
