An unusual and charming 19th century wood and steel sentimental desk seal, the rosewood handle of flat top form, banded tapering stem to a steel collar and rectangular steel matrix with canted corners, engraved with the inscription:

READ O'ER THIS AND THEN TO BREAKFAST

The sentiment would suggest that the letter writer wanted the recipient to read the letter before breakfast and not to delay!  Presented in excellent condition overall.
