Intricate 19th Century English glass oval seal intaglio of stunning sapphire colour, featuring the crest of a standing owl above a motto scroll, reading SAPERE AUDE (Dare To Be Wise). 

Despite its delicate nature, and unmounted form, there are only a few tiny nicks in the outer rim, best seen with a loupe.
