Glorious Early 20thC Armorial Agate & Gold Desk Seal

A particularly fine looking and tactile desk seal of generous size, the handle and matrix constructed formed out of one piece of beautiful lightly-striated agate with hues mainly of deep reds and browns.  The handle is formed with a rounded top, incised into four clover leaf forms, a tapering stem with waisted decorative gilt band and further tapering to a square bevelled matrix with gilt rim and rounded corners, engraved with central armorial shield under a ducal coronet and crest above of a lion standant and scroll motto below reading:
