A mid 19th century fruitwood handle and brass desk seal, the turned handle of baluster form tapering to a brass collar and integral oval matrix, well engraved with iconography depicting St Joseph with Our LOrd sitting on his knee in His glory, with circumscription reading:

SUPERIEURE * DES * SOEURS * DE * St IOSEPH * DE * LYON

The seal of the Mother Superior for the convent of St Joseph in Lyon, France.  In excellent condition.
