What a delight to see such a splendid carved mother-of-pearl handle, of such beautiful proportions and in excellent condition.  The waisted design features intricately carved horizontal lines, producing a leaf motif,  The tapering base fits to an ornately carved or cast cushion mount, the integral silver matrix of rounded square form engraved with armorial shield and crest above., as yet unidentified.
