19thC English Gold Crest Carnelian Swivel Fob Seal

A beautiful English gold and carnelian swivel fob seal dating from the early 19th century.

An excellent example of a personal fob seal, this one is high-purity gold with foliate embossed suspension ring and foliate scroll cast and pierced shoulders enclosing a locking mechanism, the carved carnelian engraved crest and cypher matrix with canted corners, the reverse enclosed gold with engine turned shield, the crest as yet unidentified.
