19thC Danish Brass Frederick VI Engraver Name Wax Seal

Seal Detail

A rare and unusual official town brass desk seal, of simple oval block form and relating to King Frederick VI (1768-1839) of Denmark and later of Norway as well.  The rear of the seal is engraved with the maker's name: PHILLIPPS and the reverse has the Royal cypher "R VI" under the royal coronet, and an inscription reading:

AALBORG TOLD OG CONS:STEMP.

A customs seal for the town of Aalborg, in Denmark - in excellent condition.
