19thC Banded Hardstone & Gold Armorial Desk Seal

Seal Detail

A hardstone and gold desk seal, dating to the early 19th century, the handle of carved striated agate, of rectangular tapering form with hues predominantly of greys with a contrasting brown band.  The gold collar and cushion, heavily decorated and a squared carnelian matrix, well engraved with an armorial shield, showing quarterings, as yet unidentified.  In superb condition overall.
