A good example of a French 18th Century Marquis desk seal, the handle of turned ebony tapering to a silver banded collar and oval matrix with poincon mark on the reverse and obverse well engraved with a central armorial of twin matrimonial shields under a Marquis coronet with attractive decorative engraving in the form of climbing roses.
