Seal Detail

A charming and unusually dated antique brass pocket or desk wax seal from Hungary, specifically from the wine rich area of Somlyo-Vasarhely, in the Somlyo mountains.  The slender, squared handle tapers gently to the circular matrix, engraved with a basket holding a vine with three large bunches of grapes with a circumscription within lined border reading:

In excellent original condition and collectible especially to wine-aficionados!
